Brief Biography:
A graduate of the Gerontology Ph.D. Program at the University of Massachusetts, for her dissertation Dr. Higgins conducted a nationwide study of senior center gambling policies designed to regulate problem gambling. Results of the analyses conducted for this dissertation have been published in the Journal of Aging and Social Policy and the Journal of Aging Studies. Other published articles can be found in the Journal of Professional Case Management and The Monitor.
Presently, Dr. Higgins is the coordinator a federally-funded grant which supports the integration of primary care services into two behavioral health clinics at the Center for Human Development in Western Massachusetts.
